I am one of those people in the world whose hair starts to act funny the moment the weather changes. So, when it is raining, it starts to fall out like the rain, and when it gets cold, it gets all frizzy and crazy like. In the past, I used an anti-frizz shampoo to control this condition, and I will admit, that helped my frizzy hair situation quite a lot, however recently it seems as if that shampoo needs a bit of extra help.

I was at Health and Glow the other day and I saw this serum by Toni and Guy, and decided to buy it and see if it helped my situation. I have never really been into too many hair products like serums and masques, but I wanted to test it out this time.

Price

This product retails for INR 650 and you get 30ml.

Product Packaging

It comes in a clear glass bottle with a pump attached from which you get the product. The pump has a lock mechanism in it, kind of like the Maybelline Dream Satin foundation does, and because of this it doesn’t have any other cap.

The glass is thick, but you shouldn’t take chances with it, seeing the price tag and the amount of product that you get for it.

What It Claims to Do

Helps prevent frizz and flyaway and gives high shine with a gloss finish.

How It Performed and My Thoughts

The serum has a thick consistency, almost like castor oil. But when you put it on your hair, it gets absorbed really fast and doesn’t leave any oiliness behind. My main concern with this product right after seeing its thick, castor oil like consistency was that it will make my hair look greasy. But it did no such thing, so that gives it a star from me. It also has a pleasant, fruity scent to it which lingers on your hair up until the next day.

So, the one main thing that this product claims to do is prevent frizzy hair, and that is truly what it does. You see, I always air dry my hair because I don’t have the patience to sit around with a blow dryer but also because I get a lot of hair fall if I use a blow dryer on my wet hair, and that scares me because going bald at 22 will be such a shame. Anyway, so the moment my hair is completely dry, it gets into this weird flyaway frizzy look that makes me look crazy.

I used this serum on damp hair after washing it and allowed it to get absorbed before going over with a comb, and I was pleasantly surprised with how sleek my hair looked after it has dried, with little to no frizz. What’s better is that this smooth finish continued to last the next entire day as well, making it a good hair day 2 days in a row. This product also contributes towards detangling your hair, which in turn reduced hair fall as well and also saves you time in the morning from having to battle it out with the tangles of your hair.

Also, for the sake of this review, I tried this product out on dry hair once as well, but didn’t really like the final finish that it gave there. My hair looked shiny but that was because it looked oily, so it is recommended that you try this product out only on damp or wet hair.

My only qualm with this product is that you only get 30ml for all that money. If you have long hair, buying this will become too difficult for your pocket because you will need at least 6-7 drops every time you want to de-frizz your hair and that will make this product last for maybe 2 months max. And seeing the positive results that it gives you, I don’t think you will be able to stop yourself from buying it again.

Rating

I was truly impressed with this product. I will rate it 5 out of 5, because not only did it stay true to everything that it claimed, but I think it is one of those things that has positively impacted my hair for the better. I will definitely be repurchasing it again and will recommend it to everyone as well.
