Sunsilk Lusciously Thick and Long Shampoo For Healthy Hair – Product Review
March 6, 2017 | by ashish963@gmail.com
In today’s post, we will be reviewing the Sunsilk Lusciously Thick and Long Shampoo.
Using a shampoo to wash our hair is probably the one thing that we all have in common in our hair care routines. There are a million and one different varieties of shampoo being sold out there in the market, and each of them make their fair share of claims as to what they can do for your hair and your hair problems.
Sunsilk is one brand that changed the shampoo game in India back when it was launched. [easy-tweet tweet=”Before this product came to us, people used ordinary soap to wash their hair and then probably wondered why they were going bald.” user=”JFHOfficial” usehashtags=”no” url=”https://girlopedia.com/sunsilk-lusciously-thick-long-shampoo-review”] This was a brand that was operating outside India way before it came to our markets, but when it finally did, it made a major mark that up to this date makes the products sold under its name a fan favorite.
Packaging
The product comes in a pink bottle with a flip cap, which is a signature shampoo bottle design that allows the user to get the product out in a hygienic and easy way without spilling or taking out too much at once. The sides of the bottle are curved so that the user can have a better grip on it whilst using it. Depending on the quantity of shampoo, the sizes of the bottles differ from one another, making the 100 ml ones a travel friendly size, and anything above that as a more of a use-in-your-home-bathroom item.
Price
The shampoo is priced at 190 INR for a 340 ml bottle, which is very reasonable. What’s more is that there is more than one size available and each has an equally reasonable price attached to it.
What it claims
The shampoo claims that “it is enriched with Keratin Yoghurt Nutri Complex, which gently cleanses and feeds your hair with nutrients, strengthening it from roots to tips for long, healthy and abundant hair”.
Color, Consistency and Performance
The product has a light pink color with a glossy texture to it, and the shampoo itself has flecks of glitter like substance in it, which can be easily see when held against the light. It is semi-thick in consistency, just like any other shampoo would be like and has a pleasant smell to it.
Having said all that, let’s dive in on how this product worked and what are my thoughts on it.
Sunsilk was the bright shiny toy that everyone wanted to play with, when it was launched in India but over the years it has failed to show results against all the high claims that it makes. After the using the product for a few months, neither did my hair get lusciously thick, nor did it get any stronger. In fact, after washing my hair with this shampoo, all it did was smell nice and get rid of any excess oil from my scalp. I did not notice any positive changes in the texture of my hair, and for that matter, even my hair fall situation remained constant. Furthermore, since it’s not really a mild shampoo, I wouldn’t even recommend that you use it every day.
As a child, I used to really enjoy using Sunsilk shampoos, and in fact I used to ask my mother to specifically get the pink one. However, the brand hasn’t been able to improve its product over the years; it has just improved its ability to make high claims. When it comes to products like these, it is crucial that one keeps innovating, and genuinely work on its research and development. Seeing the average performance of this shampoo, I feel like Sunsilk needs to pull up its socks.
Pros
In conclusion, here are the pros of this product:
- The shampoo is reasonably priced.
- It has a pleasant smell that stays on your hair even two days after washing it.
- There aren’t any side effects to this product as such.
- The packaging is done very well.
- Gets rid of any excess oil and dirt from your hair, making it feel nice and clean after a hair wash.
Cons
As you can tell from the review, the cons on this product are major deal breakers.
- Doesn’t live up to what it claims.
- Neither does it make your hair thick nor does it make it long.
- For people who have a hair fall condition, it can even aggravate it.
Rating
Since this shampoo did not work very well for me, I want to give it a 2 out of 5, but it does have certain redeeming qualities, like its reasonable price, easy availability, good packaging, its fragrance, and the fact that it does a decent job at getting rid of the oiliness from your hair. Therefore, my final score for it will be a 3 out of 5.
