Top 5 Nude Lipsticks For That Everyday Neutral Look
March 28, 2017 | by ashish963@gmail.com
When it comes to everyday makeup, a lot of us prefer to wear neutral shades like nudes and light pinks, in order to not overdo the look. Especially for people working in a professional setup like in an office, hospital, or the court, where wearing bold makeup can end up making you look unprofessional because these are the places where appearance matter a lot. Therefore, in today’s post I will be helping you out with finding the top 5 nude lipstick options, based on longevity, pigmentation, and overall performance.
Bobbi Brown Nourishing Lip Color In Blush
The shade “blush” is a mild, brown nude lipstick that is hydrating, light weight, and has enough pigment to cover the lips without looking cakey. It comes in a black and gold metallic case which looks luxurious, and the texture of the lipstick is balm like, so you don’t have to worry about it settling into your lip’s lines. The formula of the lipstick is said to be enriched with avocado oil, jojoba oil, and olive oil extracts, and has cocoa seed butter and the usual vitamin C and E. These last for up to 4 hours, they don’t bunch up on the edge of your mouth, and are not patchy. You can buy this online for INR 2150.
Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Safe Word
The shade “safe word” is a muted, medium-dark brown with hints of pink running through it and has a warm undertone. This lipstick is from the Be Legendary lipstick range that has a total of 120 shade options to choose from. It comes in a metallic rectangular shaped case, sort of like a fat domino. What I really liked about this particular shade is that it is a nude that will suit every skin tone without washing you out. It has a rich medium brown pigment that has a semi matte finish. It applies very smoothly, doesn’t tug on the lips like matte lipsticks generally do, and it gives a nourished look to your lips. These last for about 6 hours without needing any touch ups. You can purchase these online for INR 1500.
M.A.C Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy
Velvet Teddy is a deep beige colour, with hints of pink running through it. It is a comfortable matte lipstick that goes on smoothly on the lips, gives it a nourished look, and has an opaque colour payoff. It barely transfers and can last up to 5 hours without any touch ups, although if you eat anything too oily the colour will break off. What is more is that you can even build up the colour to get a more intense nude lip. I personally prefer to go two swipes on the lips and then blend out the colour with my finger to give it a softer look. This colour will look really good on people with olive skin tones, and for people with lighter skin I would recommend wearing it along with a dark eye look. You can purchase this for INR 1500.
L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick In Maple Mocha
The shade “maple mocha” is a light, brick brown, which is somewhere between a dark brown and a pinky nude brown. It is a gorgeous, everyday wear nude that will look good on any skin tone. The lipstick comes in a reflective metal case with a section in the middle depicting the shade of the lipstick. The bullet itself looks very matte but upon wearing, it gave a smooth finish which wasn’t drying. I was very happy with the pigmentation of this product as well, because it gave an opaque finish on the first swipe, but you can definitely build up the colour if you want, it won’t bunch up or look cakey. These transfer quite a bit so that is one negative point, but the lipstick can last up to 5 hours. You can buy it for INR 899.
Nykaa So Matte Lipstick in Royal Honey
The final pick of my top 5 is a lipstick from Nykaa’s nude lipstick collection, called “royal honey”, which is a warm light brown. Although these lipsticks market themselves as matte, they aren’t fully that. These have a smooth texture to them, and the bullet of the lipstick looks like it has specs of sparkle running through it. These are quite nourishing and not too drying on the lips. They come in a black square domino like package, kind of like the Smashbox lipsticks. The colour payoff isn’t very intense in the nude lipsticks as they are in the other, more deeper shades from Nykaa. You will have to swipe the product a few times to get an opaque finish, and these aren’t transfer proof, but do last for 5 hours without needing any touch-ups.
