Mahendra Singh Dhoni, during IPL season our captain cool has once again proved that he is one of the best finishers in the game. Taking the team to victory by scoring 40 runs from 26 balls (including five great sixes) against Mumbai Indians, the former Indian captain has shut the mouth of his haters in his own style. It was a great reply to those people who say, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is no longer the cricketer he used to be.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the man who stood different from the rest with his attitude, determination & ability. From a small town like Ranchi to the reach the epitome of Indian cricket, the hard work is worth appreciable.

M.S Dhoni made his debut in the year 2004 as a wicket- keeper batsman. From there to the Indian cricket team captain in 2007, his journey was truly inspirational.  India won the inaugural T20 World Cup defeating Pakistan and in 2011 won ODI world cup under MSD’s leadership. Followed by so many victories under this great captain, Indian team managed to hit the Top spot in Test and ODIs.

To every Indian, MS Dhoni quitting captaincy was the next heartbreaking moment after Sachin’s retirement.  Like always, it was an unexpected call by MSD to step down as a captain just before the champions trophy 2017.

No matter how stressed the situation is, Dhoni is the coolest person you could find on the cricket field. You will never see him freak out or struggle to handle pressure and no doubt therefore he is called as ‘the Captain cool’. This calm and composed attitude of Mahi always helps make rational decisions during tough times.

Team Player

Some of you may wonder, how Dhoni becomes the Indian cricket captain after Rahul Dravid even though there were other senior members of the team. After giving up the captaincy, Dravid suggested Sachin Tendulkar’s name as the next captain, but Sachin refused the offer & suggested Dhoni’s name as he had an excellent relation with all the teammates. Great players have this remarkable ability to foresee things. Sachin already knew Dhoni would do something special.

His Unmatched Skills

Dhoni is a complete all-rounder in cricket and can fit into any position in the team. May it be the Captaincy, wicket keeping, batting or bowling, Dhoni has always proved his ability. Speaking about his skills what gets noticed first is his exceptional wicket keeping & run out skills. We have seen his lightning fast keeping in T20s & ODIs and it’s just amazing. When it comes to batting, his resistance to the ball, helicopter shot etc. are still unmatched. He also has shown a remarkable speed in running between the Wickets.

Follows His Instincts

How many cricketers actually listen to their heart, while playing? Well not many, but MSD is definitely the one who follows the gut feeling. Several times he has been criticized for taking wrong decisions which have eventually done good to the team. However, when we observe his theories, it becomes obvious that this isn’t about blindly making decisions, but taking calls backed by strong reasons.

Stay Grounded

You will never see MSD getting depressed after a defeat or jumping out of joy after a win. He always stays grounded and that’s one reason he is considered as one of the most respectable cricketers in the world. He knows that winning & losing are part of every game. He is a person with a strong heart who cannot be provoked easily by others actions. He stands firm on the field keeping his emotions in control in all situations.

Lead from Front

There are so many occasions where Dhoni single-handedly won matches for India. A team leader should be able to lead the team by example especially when they need it the most. Nobody can forget decisive role in the victory played by Dhoni in 2011 World Cup Final in Mumbai. On the other side when it comes to defeat or criticism, MSD always take the responsibility of the losses without blaming anyone. He accepts the criticisms positively & with strong determination & hard work he makes them wrong.

Humble Nature

You will never see MS Dhoni take credits for the team’s success. When the team wins, you will never see him take the center stage holding the trophy, but let the other members share the credit. In interviews & press meets, he never brags about himself, rather speaks about the team’s effort. This is one of the best ways to motivate the young members in the team.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a fearless warrior who led the team from the front, took tough decisions, believed in his instincts and made India proud. His calm-filled approach to any situation & sheer determination makes every Indian believe his necessity in Indian cricket team.
