This week we are connecting with Jyoti AKA SuperPrincessjo. She is a YouTuber and upload videos related to Beauty & Lifestyle Every week. She runs her channel on YouTube by name SuperPrincessJo and as of Jul 2017 she has 5,18,591 subscribers and 13,49,40,144 video views that’s 13 Crore plus views. Woooh that is super impressive.

Thanks a ton for your time and interview to JustForHer. We are online women’s magazine and discussion forum. It is nice to e-meet you. Through this interaction, we would like to understand more about you and your work. We just loved your YouTube channel and are more than happy to connect with you.

Just For Her : It’s a pleasure interviewing you Jyoti, tell us something about you. Where are you from, what is your education, family background and hobbies?

Hi, Thanks & pleasure is all mine, I go by blogger name SuperPrincessjo I have done double Post Gradualtion, Masters in Biotechnology & a PG In Clinical Research, I was always interested in Science & clinical research, My family has my husband who is an IT professional & a 4 years old Son. Before marriage I was with my parents, my DAD is now retired Air force Officer & mom is a home maker with 2 siblings  both are settled in their lives.

Just For Her : What is your typical day like?

I get up In the morning take of the house hold & family stuff like a usual mom & wife. After my husband leaves for office & son for school I spend the full day working on my YouTube channel & replying to business emails, plannning my content & sometimes some online meetings & discussions, I wrap my day by 8 pm & go ahead with dinner & bed time with Family 🙂

Just For Her : More than half a million subscribers, that is awesome, do you remember your first subscriber? Which was your first video on YouTube?

Yes, I do remember My first ever YouTube Comment on my first hair tutorial on YouTube it was from a Music Channel which is now huge music channel on YouTube. More than 500,000 YouTube subscribers are my huge online family I call them my #princessfam 🙂

Just For Her : Which is your most-viewed video? What prompted you to create that video? Do you aim for any particular number of video views or reach before you plan a video?

Eyebrow threading at home is my most viewed viral video & I just filmed it one day while I was doing my own eyebrows, its most watched & most rated video on YouTube as it is useful for both men & women. I just shared some tips that I do to do my own eyebrows & it helped a lot of people.

Just For Her : We love your videos, tell us more about the process through which a video goes before it is uploaded on YouTube. Do you have a team or you are one and only soul running this YT channel?

A Video starts with an idea, planning, tools that require to create a video, then editing & post processing, also after it’s uploaded I need to respond to all the comments & queries I receive related to

that video, then repeat the process, I also take lot of video ideas from my audience who keeps sending me video requests. I am a one-man army, from planning, filming, editing & social media sharing I do everything by myself. I have no team & I don’t need one right now; my work keeps me very busy & I love working hard & challenges it brings along. Though I might feel tired at times but more the work load the better for me 🙂

Just For Her : Do you own a studio? Would you like to walk us through your infrastructure and technical capabilities?

I have a small home studio & office, I have 1 Room in my home specially occupied for my blogging/studio which I use to film, edit, store or as home office.

I have 3 Studio lights, soft boxes & ring light, few tripods to hold my cameras & 4 different cameras to film. A MAC book laptop & editing software, I movie & FCP X for editing. This keeps updating as per needs.

Just For Her : At what point, did you see vlogging as a possible career / business opportunity?

I actually thought of it from the beginning it self, I knew it will take some time to be an established blogger but I had that patience & persistence that was required to take it as a full-time career, I always wanted it to be my full time job so worked in that direction from the beginning it self.

Just For Her : How do you balance this with the commercial side of what you do?

When you love what you do, you always take out time for it, same applies to my blogging hobby, I spent the money that I earned from my day job into the YouTube initial investment that was needed, like buying the cameras, studio set up or learning some skills, also my husband helped a lot in beginning on financial aspects, also, I did work late nights for many years to balance my 2 jobs. I did it because I totally loved & enjoyed it. I totally believe that If you want something you will work towards it or you will find excuses.

Just For Her : When you don’t like a product in a review, what’s your approach?

I usually don’t do much product reviews, that’s not my style, but If I like to try something new in the market I do a tried & tested series video on my YouTube channel SuperPrincessJo I always make sure to share both pros & cons of a product to my best knowledge, if something is really not working for me then I don’t put it up on my channel.

In the past I, have had so many opportunities from brands to do paid reviews but my gut says not to do scripted paid reviews as with time you feel really connected to your audience and you want them to get the honest feedbacks from you. I reject a lot of such offers if I don’t get the freedom to speak both the pros & cons of a product. I also buy a lot of beauty stuff just to experience & share with my audience. In either case my approach is same.

JustForHer: Do you really use all the products that you mention in your videos? Will you ever talk good things about a product for free samples or a world tour?

Yes, I do show & mention everything I use, I might not use a product till it’s last drop & move on to another product at times, but I do use everything that I mention in my videos.

I don’t accept free samples as they expect you to use & talk about them & there is a pressure to make content & stuff, I am free soul & I like to be honest & without this kind of pressure, also I always think what would benefit my audience then what would help me, so I hardly ever do free products things, also I like quality products over any random stuff.

Just For Her : Tell us more about earning opportunities through YouTube. Can one leave her full- time job and sustain with YouTube earnings?

This is a very Interesting question & there is no clear picture on this topic as every YouTube channel is different & has different content. I can talk so much on this topic, but In relation to current scenario what I would say is yes, you can do a full time earnings from YouTube & pay your bills from YouTube earnings if you are consistent & dedicated to what you do & also if you are ready to take that risk.

I have seen a lot channels do really well in short time & many to struggle to establish, I would say If you love making films/videos & enjoy the process then the wait is not painful but if you are here only for money.

Just For Her : Your advice to budding vloggers? What to consider before starting a YT channel and how to make it a success?

Always be yourself & be ready with thick crocodile skin, there will be lot of harsh times & struggle times in this YouTube platform.

Be strong & think in a business prospects, sometimes you will find a lot of online friends that you will connect to & sometimes a lot of haters that don’t matter. Be persistent & be yourself. Patience is the key & also keep updating yourself on new tools & tricks.

Just For Her : Are you married? If yes – how is your family supporting you? Esp. husband.

I have already mentioned I am blessed to have a supporting husband & sweet loving son. They are in my YouTube videos every now & then when they are around when I am filming vlogs.

Just For Her : What’s next for you?

I do have a lot of plans & I always think of something or the other, I will announce it only when things are final.
