Lalu Yadav joined politics during his academic stint at the University of Patna when he was a student and he was voted as a part of the Lok Sabha, Janata party contestant in 1977. He was one of the least old associates of the parliament at 29 years and went on to step into become Chief Minister of Bihar state in 1990.
He gave up this post of Chief Minister in 1997 on accounts of the rising bribery and dishonesty charges with respect to the Fodder Scam and was replaced by Rabri Devi, his wife in the same year. Lalu’s stint as the Chief Minister of Bihar received huge condemnation and was disapproved for mayhem and lack of control by many.
He belongs to the political party of Rashtriya Janata Dal and is a Hindu. At the age of 67, he is still renowned for his captivating heading abilities and huge popularity. At the same time, he has also been condemned for upholding and supporting class – based politics and bribery.
Lalu Yadav is highly educated with a bachelor’s degree in law and master’s degree in political science from the BN College of Patna and has two sons and seven daughters from his wife, Rabri Devi. He made it big in the world of politics by being sworn in twice as the Chief Minister of Bihar.
