My son is 2 and a half years old and he is obsessed with fan since he was a baby. He used to get excited looking at ceiling fans when he was as young as 8 months old. Now, his obsession seems to have tremendously increased. We are worried about his behavior. Our pediatrician is not concerned about this at all. She said that as long as he is active and alert everything is fine. But, seeing lots of YouTube videos about fan-obsessed children we were getting worried. When I did some research, I found that obsession with fans could be a sign of Autism! This has broken our hearts; we are so concerned. He does not have any other symptoms of autism as the pediatrician says.
I would like to know if any of you have experienced with this? Can this be a typical toddler-obsession like car/ truck obsession? Do you think it is a very odd behavior and that we need to be concerned?
