Some Indian families still are very orthodox, I have seen my neighbors and friends who are treated as untouchables during periods. They are excluded from all social events, auspicious occasions, Pooja and literally all the social gatherings. At home they are not allowed to enter certain rooms in their houses and even their kids are not allowed to touch them.
Have you seen or experienced this? I am a city girl and I find all these rituals amusing.
